A private charter for your group

FTT arranges private coach charters between Hong Kong and Macau across the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge. Your group travels in its own coach, at the time that suits your flight or itinerary, with an FTT guide to look after you at the Macau border. There are two kinds of journey, and they work differently: - Hong Kong International Airport ⇄ Macau: one coach to the Macau border, then a second coach into the city. - Hong Kong city centre ⇄ Macau city centre: the same coach for the whole journey.

Consejos prácticos

  • Dedicated coach for your group only
  • Airport route: change coach at the Macau border
  • City-to-city route: one coach, no change

Step by step: Hong Kong Airport to Macau

Must do

  • Follow the “Mainland / Macau Transfer” (E2) signs after landing
  • Keep passport, boarding pass and baggage receipts ready
  • Check in at E2 60 min before departure with bags, 30 min without
  • Wear the transfer sticker and stay with your group

Must not do

  • Do not pass Hong Kong immigration
  • Do not go to baggage reclaim — bags are transferred for you
  • Do not leave the restricted area — you cannot return to E2
1. After landing, do not pass through Hong Kong Passport Control. Once you enter Hong Kong you can no longer use Counter E2 or the airport coach. 2. In the Terminal 1 arrival area, follow the overhead signs for "Mainland / Macao Connections" or "Transfer E2" and walk to Counter E2. 3. At Counter E2, present your passport, incoming boarding pass and checked-baggage receipts. Hand the receipts to the staff, who arrange for your checked bags to be transferred from your aircraft. You will receive a Macau destination sticker; wear it where it can be seen. 4. Pass through the "Coach / Ferry Boarding" gate near Counter E2, take the escalator down and ride the two-minute Automated People Mover to the SkyPier Terminal. 5. At SkyPier, follow the signs to Baggage Reclaim, collect your transferred bags and wait in the departures lounge until your coach is called. Load your luggage into the coach and take your seat. The crossing of the 55 km bridge takes around 45 minutes. 6. Because of how cross-boundary coaches from the airport are permitted to operate, the airport coach can only travel as far as the Macau border (Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge Macau Port). Step off, take your bags with you and clear Macau immigration and customs. 7. FTT's guide meets you at the Macau border and brings you to your second, private coach, which takes your group to your hotel or the city centre.

Consejos prácticos

  • Do not pass Hong Kong Passport Control after landing
  • Follow "Mainland / Macao Connections" or "Transfer E2" signs to Counter E2
  • Passport, boarding pass and bag receipts at Counter E2; wear the Macau sticker
  • APM train to SkyPier, reclaim bags, board the coach (about 45 minutes across the bridge)
  • Clear Macau immigration at Macau Port; FTT guide takes you to your second coach

Step by step: Macau back to Hong Kong Airport

1. Your private coach collects your group from your Macau hotel or venue and drives to the Macau border (Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge Macau Port). Plan to arrive at the Macau Port check-in counter at least 90 minutes before your flight. 2. Our guide stays with you as far as the Macau border and helps you to the Upstream Check-in / HKIA Direct Coach Counter. 3. With participating airlines, such as Cathay Pacific, ANA, EVA Air and Singapore Airlines, you can check your bags through to your final destination and receive your boarding passes at Macau Port. Otherwise, keep your bags with you and check in at the airport. 4. Clear Macau departure formalities and board the airport coach across the bridge to the SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. 5. At SkyPier, claim your Air Passenger Departure Tax refund coupon, then proceed directly to your flight gate without entering Hong Kong.

Consejos prácticos

  • Private coach from your Macau hotel to the Macau border
  • Guide assists you until the Macau border
  • Arrive at Macau Port check-in at least 90 minutes before your flight
  • Participating airlines check bags through and issue boarding passes at Macau Port
  • Airport coach to SkyPier; claim the departure tax refund coupon, then go to your gate

Which airlines can use the Counter E2 coach

The airport coach is a sterile air-to-land transfer: you do not pass Hong Kong customs, and staff move your checked bags from the aircraft to the coach. It is therefore limited to airlines with a transfer agreement with the HKIA SkyPier Terminal — over 60 airlines take part.

RegionMain participating airlines
Hong Kong & Greater ChinaCathay Pacific (CX), Hong Kong Airlines (HX), HK Express (UO), Greater Bay Airlines (HB), China Airlines (CI), EVA Air (BR), STARLUX (JX), Air China (CA), China Eastern (MU), China Southern (CZ)

Not eligible

  • Airlines without a transfer agreement with the HKIA SkyPier Terminal
  • Staff, standby or unconfirmed tickets — a confirmed same-day flight is required
  • Separate tickets with non-partner airlines that require exiting to the arrivals hall to check in again

Turned away at Counter E2 if

  • You have already cleared Hong Kong immigration — you cannot return to the transit area
  • You have checked bags but no baggage claim tags, so staff cannot retrieve them
  • You reach Counter E2 less than 60 minutes before the coach (checked bags) or 30 minutes (hand luggage only)

Airline participation can change; FTT Travel will confirm your flight's eligibility when we prepare your offer.

Consejos prácticos

  • E2 check-in: 60 min before (bags) / 30 min (no bags)

Baggage, airside rules and departure tax refund

One piece of baggage is included per passenger: maximum 23 kg and length + width + height no more than 158 cm. Extra and overweight bags (up to 32 kg) are charged. Oversized bags, dangerous goods, animals and customs-prohibited items may be refused. Connecting passengers stay in the airport's restricted area and cannot leave it to collect baggage, so make sure nothing is left landside. Hong Kong's hand-luggage liquids rules apply: https://www.hongkongairport.com/en/passenger-guide/airport-security/ Passengers taking the SkyPier coach to fly out are exempt from Air Passenger Departure Tax. If you have paid it, you receive a refund coupon at check-in; present it at the Departure Tax Refund Desk at SkyPier the same day for a cash refund. Exemption criteria: https://www.apdtrefund.hk/en/#eligibility. Without a coupon, apply via the Civil Aviation Department (https://www.cad.gov.hk/english/departure_tax.html); if you do not collect it at SkyPier, contact your airline. The operator accepts coach reservations up to 30 days before departure; FTT private charters need 45 days' notice.

Consejos prácticos

  • 1 bag included: 23 kg, 158 cm total
  • Max 32 kg; extra/overweight bags charged
  • Stay airside; no return for bags
  • Departure tax refund at SkyPier desk, same day

Visa-free entry to Macau

Many visitors can enter Macau without a visa. Hong Kong permanent residents holding a Hong Kong Identity Card can enter visa-free. Mainland Chinese residents need a valid Exit-Entry Permit with a Macau endorsement. For foreign passport holders, the official Macao SAR list includes, for example: United Kingdom, up to 6 months; most EU countries (such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland), Switzerland and Norway, up to 90 days; Japan and South Korea, up to 90 days; New Zealand, up to 3 months; the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Russia, up to 30 days. The list changes from time to time, so each guest should confirm the current rule for their own passport on the Macao SAR Government website before travel. Passports must be valid for the whole stay.

  • Most EU, Japan, South Korea: up to 90 days
