Opened in 2021 as an independent resort before joining IHG's Vignette Collection in late 2023, WM Hotel brought large-scale, contemporary hospitality to the relatively undeveloped Sai Kung coastline.

• The Sai Kung setting — Situated on Wai Man Road facing the South China Sea, the property acts as a gateway to the 140-square-kilometre UNESCO Global Geopark. It sits a flat, five-minute walk from the area's famous seafood promenade.
• Tri-tower architecture — The low-rise structure is divided into three distinct wings: Sky, Sea, and Earth. The stepped, zig-zag architectural design maximises sea views and allows for unique room layouts, including ground-floor garden access and private rooftop terraces.

Rooms, Suites & Occupancy

The 260 accommodations are bright and minimalist, relying on blond wood, expansive glazing, and vibrant orange accents to offset the coastal light.

• Balconies and terraces — While entry-level rooms face inland, premium categories feature private balconies overlooking the bay. The highest-tier rooms incorporate spiral staircases leading to private rooftop terraces equipped with outdoor seating.
• Dogcation packages — Catering heavily to the domestic market, the hotel designates specific ground-floor rooms with private gardens for guests travelling with pets. The policy permits up to two dogs under 15 kilograms per room, supplying bespoke dog beds and welcome treats.
• Occupancy realism — Standard rooms cap at three guests with a rollaway bed for an additional fee. Families of four must book guaranteed interconnecting rooms or upgrade to one of the larger suites to comply with fire regulations.

Wellness, Spa & Grooming

Leisure facilities are designed to complement the outdoor lifestyle of the surrounding New Territories.

• 75-metre infinity pool — The rooftop infinity pool is the property's focal point, spanning 75 metres and offering unobstructed panoramic views across the water towards Sharp Island. It is flanked by loungers and cabanas, remaining a primary draw for weekend staycations.
• Fitness centre — A 24-hour gym equipped with modern Life Fitness cardio and strength machines is available for guests. The changing facilities also house separate male and female sauna and steam rooms.

Dining & Bars

While Sai Kung is renowned for its Michelin-recognised street-side seafood restaurants, the hotel offers two primary in-house venues for convenience.

• WM Café — The main dining room serves all-day international menus and is best known for its elaborate weekend seafood buffets. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise natural light.
• M Square — Operating as a casual sports bar and eatery, this venue serves draught beer, burgers, and comfort food. It features multiple large screens broadcasting live international sports fixtures.

Location & Getting Around

Positioned away from the dense urban core of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, the hotel serves as a base for hiking and island-hopping.

• Geopark access — The nearby Sai Kung Public Pier offers kaito (small ferry) services to surrounding islands and the striking hexagonal volcanic rock columns of the UNESCO Global Geopark.
• MTR shuttle — The hotel is not directly on the MTR network. A complimentary shuttle bus runs on a scheduled timetable to Hang Hau Station, turning a complex public transport journey into a straightforward 15-minute ride.
• Airport transfers — Hong Kong International Airport is approximately 45 to 50 minutes away by taxi, depending on traffic through the New Territories.

Milestones

1. August 2021

   Initial Opening

   The property opened as an independent hotel, capitalising on Hong Kong's booming domestic staycation market and bringing the first large-scale luxury accommodation to the Sai Kung waterfront.

2. Late 2023

   Vignette Collection Integration

   IHG Hotels & Resorts signed the property to its luxury conversion brand, the Vignette Collection. This transition upgraded operational standards and integrated the hotel into the global IHG One Rewards programme.
